Remark or addition

Often climbers ask the question how they can train their fingers, and campussing or hangtraining is generally the first answer you get. Well, there are more ways to train your fingers for climbing purposes. Finger exercises with a rubber band are a great way to train fingers and are often used as a treatment for tennis elbow injuries. This is because the muscles that control the finger extension are the same muscles that "pull" the elbow causing the pain known as a tennis elbow.

  • Place the rubber band around the fingers
  • Slowly spread the fingers evenly open and hold the stretched position for 8 seconds.
  • After 8 seconds, slowly move the fingers to the starting position and repeat.
