Remark or addition

Climbing is heavy on muscles and joints, especially on the fingers. During a climbing session our fingers bend in more ways then we can imaging and osteoarthritis is a logical consequence of it. Osteoarthritis will reduce the range of movement and causes pain in the joints.

This exercise is an easy way to keep the joints in your fingers flexible and can be executed almost everywhere. No excuses anymore!

  • Bend your fingertips down to touch the base of each finger joint.
  • Hold for 40 to 50 seconds and release and execute the exercise with the other hand.
  • Repeat 3 times for each hand.

Points of attention

Aggressive or hurried stretching can damage muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves, so stretch slowly and with caution.
